In June of 1988 the project HYPARION-CONSULTING GEOGRÁFIC, S.A. is born of a group of young geographers. They wish to work in the professional world and to discard the traditional labor option of education. To choose a technical line into geography. It supposes a rupture between the geographer old dedication to education and one definition of a "new profession". Our consulting company bases its existence, offers and services in this new idea.

  Directive of this ambitious project has been intuitive. It's born, fundamentally, of a kind observation of the changes and necessities that take place in our economy and society. At the moment, in our country, appear new restlessness and new sensitivity by territory and environment. We perceived that begin to contract studies for the nature conservation and exists one absence of services companies that work in questions like contamination, cartography (CAD), teledetection or pick up images emitted by artificial satellites, forecast natural catastrophes, oceanography or planning tourist trips. That is services that conform a space until now forgotten and that, day to day, is revealed like more important. At present time, a clear tendency exists to conserve and to protect natural means, and this fact has forced the appearance of new services companies that cover these scopes, making analyses varied around a common axis: the territory study.

  We worked with a definition of geography like social territory science. We looked for in our projects social welfare using, for it, global studies that observe multitude of variables (physical, human and economic) to be treated jointly by means new technologies.

  Once integrated in the C.E.E. it's important not to forget this essential professional area, where has been working successfully in all Europe. It's necessary to obtain professional and prepared technicians than know work in this new technologies and to do front capital investments in this sector and to compete with a same specialization level.

  For this reason, in these years, our company has made an important investing effort as much in material equipment as in the personnel formation.

AUTOMATED CARTOGRAPHY and THEMATIC MAPS using, for it, auxiliary instrumental techniques like: topography for obtaining field data, teledetection for pick up satellite images data, aerial photographies or GPS, photogrametric restitution for obtaining data maps from aerial photographies and design attended by computer for data processing in two or three dimensions (3D).
